The communities of Bull Shoals and Lakeview sit right on the southern shore of Bull Shoals Lake. It is definitely an extraordinary feature of the area. There are many marinas that will take care of your boating and water recreation needs. You can see a variety of performances at the Bull Shoals Theater of the Arts. An afternoon in Bull Shoals Caverns and Mountain Village 1890 will provide many discoveries and photo opportunities. Folks from near and far come to the area to partake in the fun or just relax at the lake. The Bull Shoals Dam is the site of the Annual John G. Eastwood Memorial 4th of July Fireworks Show. Cotter and Gassville, Arkansas share the same school district, and Chamber of Commerce, but have very different atmospheres. Cotter, the home of the famous Rainbow Bridge, is on the banks and hills surrounding the Hwy 62/412 White River crossing. Cotter boasts being 'Trout Capital U.S.A.' Almost every visit to the city park below the bridge presents one with the opportunity to watch fly fisherman in action as the white fog rolls across the river. Breathtaking! Big Spring Park has everything from baseball, soccer, basketball and sand volleyball to fishing, swimming in Big Spring, and swinging on the monkey bars. Several annual events are held at the park as well including Trout Fest and Bridge Bash, a benefit for childhood hunger. The town is widely residential, with a variety of restaurants, resorts and unique stores and galleries. The local school district is also in Cotter.

Gassville features a more industrious locale. Fast food restaurants as well as Mom and Pop eateries of various menus are popular with the locals. Antique malls and resale shops provide unique shopping opportunities as well. Gassville Gardens is one of the several retirement communities in the area. Gassville also has a fun and relaxing remodeled recreation park.

The town of Yellville, Arkansas has a beautiful boat/recreational access to the windy Crooked Creek that flows into the White River. It is also a northern gateway to the Buffalo National River. Yellville is the Marion County Seat. The town square is the center of wonderful celebrations in this town. Turkey Trot is its most popular annual event. The Yellville Farmers’ Market and Music on the Square are Saturday evening attractions throughout the spring and summer that provide locally sourced produce, artisan products and music everyone can enjoy.
